Lake Burton in Northeast Georgia is the largest lake in the six-lake chain that follows the course of the Tallulah River. There are roughly 1,200 private homes on Lake Burton’s 62 miles of shoreline. This clean lake is enjoyed by residents and visitors for its clear water, ideal for boating, waterskiing, and fishing. The area is rich with wildlife, fish, and flora. Lake Burton’s surrounding forests are part of the beautiful southern Appalachian Mountains and protected national forest lands. Area amenities include the Waterfall Club with 18-hole golf course, Anchorage and LaPrade’s marinas, restaurants, Camp High Harbor, and the quaint shops and restaurants of nearby Clayton, Georgia. The Lake Burton Civic Association sponsors numerous activities, such as lake events, a tour of homes, and a golf tournament. There is a 4th of July fireworks event each year as well.

Living on Lake Burton puts you in the heart of the great things Rabun County has to offer. Aside from boating, fishing and relaxing on the lake, there are awesome opportunities all around. There are a many waterfalls to visit and to photograph. Hemlock Falls in Moccasin Creek State Park, Minnehaha Falls on Lake Rabun, and Dicks Creek Falls just to name a few.
